Mokha’s courtyard at dusk: yellow, turquoise and violet doors set in lime-plaster walls, with wall lights and flowering planters.

Mokha on your mind.

01 — Our story

Our name comes from al‑Mukhā, the Yemeni port that sent coffee out to the world.

For about three centuries, coffee left Arabia through one harbour on the Red Sea. Traders called the beans after the port, and that is how “mocha” got into the world’s vocabulary.

We took the name and brought it to the northern end of the same sea. Mokha is lime-plaster walls, painted doors and lamps that stay on late. Behind the bar we pull careful espresso and slow pour-overs, and we pour the Arabic coffee our grandparents would recognise.
